Artist's Assistant + Boutique Manager

Maison Pony — Plaza St-Hubert, Montreal

Maison Pony is a colorful little universe where emotions transform into plushies, clothing, art, and super unique projects.

We are looking for a strong, bright, and organized individual to work closely with the artist, Pony. This key person will be the artist's right hand and will have a 360-degree view of all their artistic projects, as well as brand development and the smooth operation of both the online store and the physical store on Plaza St-Hubert.

This position is for someone who loves project management, varied tasks, and wants to have a real impact on the growth of a small business.


✨ Your Role:

A key position, at the intersection of:

  • daily shop management,

  • administrative support,

  • coordination of creative projects (plushies, collabs, events, etc.).

You will be a pillar in helping the artist, the brand, and the shop breathe, move forward, and stay calm.


Creative Project Management

  • Draft clear quotes, contracts, and small documents for our collaborators

  • Monitor timelines

  • Coordinate with our partners, suppliers, and collaborators.

  • Support management in organizing artistic projects.


Coordination & Administrative Support

  • Manage the artist's schedule.

  • Sort and manage emails.

  • Organize, file, and keep records clean and accessible.


Administration & Finance

  • Maintain current accounting records.

  • File and process invoices.

  • Prepare expense reports.

  • Monitor shop operating costs (monthly budget).

  • Issue invoices and follow up on payments.

  • Perform product cost analysis.

  • Compare prices, negotiate, and find good supplier agreements.


Inventory & Supplier Management

  • Keep an eye on inventory and orders.

  • Find new sales points.

  • Communicate with our suppliers in Canada and internationally.

  • Source new suppliers for new projects.

  • Work in tandem with our inventory supervisor.


Shop Management & Events

  • Organize and coordinate our pop-ups and small events.

  • Plan team schedules.

  • Occasional work on the website (Shopify)

  • Manage payroll for in-store staff.

  • Supervise daily operations to ensure everything runs smoothly.


Candidate Profile

You are a person who is:

  • autonomous, reliable, and good at prioritizing,

  • comfortable with people,

  • rigorous,

  • analytical,

  • super organized,

  • able to manage multiple projects at once (and enjoys it),

  • comfortable with digital tools & accounting,

  • and ideally, with experience in customer service + administration.

Schedule

  • Monday: 10 AM — 5 PM

  • Tuesday & Wednesday: 11:15 AM — 6:15 PM

  • Thursday & Friday: 11:15 AM — 7:15 PM

Equipment provided:

A recent Apple laptop

Salary: Between $23 and $26 per hour, depending on experience
